Hollows as Homes: Tumut

Join us on a mission to explore, educate and protect the world of tree hollows. Tree hollows play a crucial role in our waterways and bushlands, providing shelter for many native species including fish, possums, birds, and reptiles.

Hollow-bearing trees are declining at an alarming rate. Their loss has been classed as a Key Threatening Process to biodiversity in New South Wales.

In this hands-on workshop, citizen scientists will learn about the importance of hollows and how they can help protect them. Each participant will make their very own hollow home - a possum drey - to take home. By doing so, they’ll contribute to a program that supports habitat creation for native wildlife.
